Eighties WordPress Theme was created based on the _s theme by Automattic. It was designed to keep the menu and sidebar out of the way until the visitor toggles them into view.
The theme offers just a couple of customization options to make it your own, including the ability to set your own header and header text color. You can add widgets to the pop out sidebar area or the footer. It ships with the image you see in the header, so making your site look exactly like the demo takes no time at all.
Eighties includes support for several Jetpack modules. Portfolios are a unique feature included in this theme if you use Jetpack (coming soon) or blog on WordPress.com. It includes styles for showcasing your projects with the portfolio custom post type.

Post Formats and Sticky Posts : Post Formats and Sticky Posts are accented with larger images and different background colors to set them apart from the rest of your content.
Featured Image : Full-width Featured Images are displayed above the post content on the blog index and archive pages. If the “Featured Image” option is checked under Customizer → Theme, it will also be shown on single posts.
Custom Menu : This theme includes one navigation menu in the header. By default it will display your Pages, but you can also assign a Custom Menu to the Primary Menu area under Customizer → Menus.
Custom header and Background : This theme allows you to set a Custom Header in Customizer → Header Image. You can also customize the theme with a Background Color or image by going to Customizer → Colors & Backgrounds.
The best Custom Header images are decorative background images. The image will be cropped for small viewports (not scaled down) to fit the available area fixed for height and width. This means header images that work best with this theme are abstract or decorative images.
Translation Ready : Each element in this theme can be interpreted with free and premium plugins. Also, you can utilize any RTL language. Create default language files (both .po and .mo) and translate all of your site’s content without touching a line of code. In addition, switching to a language that RTL is no problem either.
